The President of Part of the Country says that “Weapons of war have no place on our streets.” By that phrase he apparently means “guns.” But of course guns are merely the most recent “weapons of war.” In the past such things as pitchforks, knives and even sling shots have been “weapons of war.” Even today, in many parts of the world, bricks are weapons of war. Obama doesn’t seem to care about those implements, only guns.
This nonsense position reminds me of another complaint by the President of Part of the Country: The cause of our deep recession and jobless growth (besides Bush) is the fact that modern technologies—like ATMs—are replacing people in some jobs.
It’s obvious: this President of Part of the Country is actually a Luddite.*
*A Luddite is a person who is opposed to new technology—which is an indicator of a backward mind.
